We have assembled a kit called the QIC610INTKIT that contains all software, converters, and cables necessary to interface a Series One PLC to a personal computer with a serial port.
The part number for the software alone is IC641PBE324. This software also allows a user to connect to a running PLC and view a graphical representation of the state of all ladder‐logic elements in real‐time. LogicMaster 1 can be used in conjunction with the proper communications hardware to create new programs, edit existing ones, and monitor the state of all register and input/output tables using a personal computer. Option 2 – LogicMaster 1 Programming Software: LogicMaster 1 is a DOS‐based software application developed and sold by GE Fanuc to facilitate programming and monitoring the operation of a Series One or Series One Junior PLC. For developing new programs, making significant revisions to existing ones, or cases where it is desirable to be able to view several rungs of ladder‐logic at once, we recommend the LogicMaster 1 software or Portable Programmer options described below. Because the LED display can only show one program instruction at a time, it can be difficult to make changes that require inserting or editing large blocks of ladder‐logic. The HHP works well in situations where program changes are relatively minor and occur infrequently. We recommend the IC610PRG105 in most cases since this unit supports the advanced functionality of the Series One Plus CPU while still maintaining compatibility with older models. It also allows the PLC program to be backed up to an audio cassette tape through the built‐in tape port. When connected, it allows a user to enter a new program, examine or edit an existing program, monitor the status of input and output points, display the contents of registers, display accumulated values for timers and counters, and retrieve error codes when a fault is present. The HHP attaches to the PLC via the 24‐pin connector located on the front of the CPU. How to Edit the Ladder‐logic Program of a GE Fanuc Series One PLC Option 1 – Hand‐held Programmer: The Hand‐held Programmer (HHP) is a multi‐purpose programming device that is compatible with both the Series One and Series One Junior PLCs.
